Revolut Takes Neobanking Physical With Branded Airport Lounges, Copenhagen First in Line for 2027 #

Revolut has announced plans to build a branded network of airport lounges across Europe. The London-based fintech signed an agreement with Copenhagen Airport to host the first Revolut Lounge, expected to open in 2027 and serve as the model for a wider European rollout.

According to the company, the Copenhagen facility is planned to be the largest common-use lounge in the Schengen area. Revolut has chosen Plaza Premium Group as its operating and investment partner. Plaza Premium describes itself as the operator of the world’s largest airport lounge network and has held Skytrax’s World’s Best Independent Airport Lounge title consecutively from 2016 through 2025.

Hadi Nasrallah, Revolut’s director of product for GP and New Bets, cited Copenhagen’s fit with the company’s design values and its importance as a growth market in the Nordics. Revolut said it aims to set a new benchmark for airport hospitality across Europe.

Revolut currently gives customers access to more than 1,600 third-party lounges worldwide through its subscription plans. Ultra subscribers receive unlimited complimentary entry to partner lounges. Premium and Metal members can purchase discounted passes, and Standard and Plus users pay per visit. Access terms for the proprietary Revolut Lounges have not been finalised but are expected to align with the company’s existing subscription tier structure.

Bora Isbulan, Deputy CEO of Plaza Premium Group, said the partnership was an important milestone in making premium lounge hospitality more accessible across key international hubs.

The lounge announcement follows Revolut’s previously stated plans to open a Revolut Store in Barcelona, continuing a pattern of physical expansion for the company. Revolut now has more than 75 million customers globally, with subscription revenue growing 67% last year, the fastest-expanding segment of its business.

The push puts Revolut in competition with card-linked lounge programmes operated by American Express and Chase, though analysts note that Revolut’s model may lean toward broader accessibility rather than exclusivity.
