Adyen Replaces Stripe on GOV.UK Pay #
The UK Government Digital Service has appointed Adyen as the new payment services provider for non-Crown card payments and pay by bank on GOV.UK Pay, replacing Stripe. The change affects local authorities, armed forces, police forces and other organisations using Stripe through the platform, while central government, NHS and arm’s length bodies will continue to use Worldpay
The migration matters because GOV.UK Pay supports public-sector payment services at scale, having processed more than £9 billion across more than 135 million transactions. GDS said around 1,000 services will move to Adyen, with the aim of maintaining functionality and preparing the platform for more payment methods, including pay by bank.
