Anthropic and FIS Build AI Agent for Bank Crime Checks #
Anthropic and FIS have announced a partnership to develop AI agents for banks, starting with a tool designed to support financial-crime investigations. The system will use Anthropic’s Claude model alongside FIS data and banking infrastructure to gather evidence across transactions, accounts and other sources
The project matters because banks spend significant time and resources on anti-money-laundering reviews, while regulators continue to scrutinise how financial institutions detect illicit activity. Bank of Montreal and Amalgamated Bank are expected to be among the first users, with wider availability planned for the second half of the year, while human investigators will remain responsible for final decisions.
