Monzo Plans Wider European Push as Profits Rise #
Monzo’s new chief executive Diana Layfield said the UK neobank is preparing to expand into more European markets after reporting higher profit and revenue for the year to March 2026. Pre-tax profit rose to £87.3 million from £60.5 million a year earlier, while revenue increased 39% to £1.7 billion
The expansion follows Monzo’s European banking licence from Irish authorities and its recent moves into Ireland and Spain. The bank added 3 million customers during the year, reaching 15.2 million users, while lending balances and fee income also grew, supporting its focus on Europe after deciding to close its US operations.
