Mastercard Partners up with Mercuryo, Polygon Labs: Is This the End of Complex Digital Wallet Addresses? #
Mastercard has been on an absolute roll of major moves within the digital assets space. Most recently, the company announced its partnership with Mercuryo and blockchain infrastructure provider Polygon Labs.
The partnership aims to expand Mastercard Crypto Credential to include self-custody wallets. Mastercard Crypto Credential helps verify transactions between consumers and businesses using blockchain networks by offering simple aliases to replace typically long and complex addresses.
Now that the company is planning on expanding the feature to self-custody wallets, it might be a true pivot point in the world of digital asset trading.
“By streamlining wallet addresses and adding meaningful verification, Mastercard Crypto Credential is building trust in digital token transfers,” said Raj Dhamodharan, executive vice president, Blockchain & Digital Assets at Mastercard.
