Ex-Revolut Duo Veronique Barbosa and Tom Reay Launch Waitlist for AI Wealthtech Haido, Backed by Eileen Burbidge #

Two of Revolut’s earliest hires have brought their AI wealth venture out of stealth, opening a public waitlist for Haido.

Co-founders Veronique Barbosa and Tom Reay met while building Revolut in its early years before moving on to senior roles at other UK fintechs. Barbosa led loyalty and rewards at Monzo and also spent time at receipt-data startup Flux. The pair had been working on Haido before this week’s public reveal.

Haido describes itself as an AI-native wealth company aimed at everyday consumers, with a mission of making wealth-building straightforward and habitual for a broad audience rather than catering exclusively to high-net-worth individuals. According to Sifted, the startup has secured backing from several UK fintech investors.

Among them is Eileen Burbidge, the London venture capitalist known for her early investment in Monzo. Burbidge co-founded Passion Capital in 2011 and launched NFG Ventures in 2025. She is listed as one of the angels supporting Haido’s early development.

The waitlist is Haido’s first public move, inviting prospective users to register ahead of a broader product rollout. The company is among several European wealthtech startups using large language models and AI agents to offer retail investors tools that were previously available mainly to institutional or premium clients.

Barbosa has spoken publicly about her motivation for starting the company, citing years spent at organizations close to significant wealth creation, including at Revolut, while feeling that ordinary users, including herself, rarely captured meaningful financial benefit from that growth. That experience, she has said, shapes Haido’s consumer-first approach.

Haido has not disclosed the size of its pre-launch funding round. The company joins a number of ventures started by Revolut alumni in recent years.
