eToro, the Nasdaq-listed trading and investment platform, has agreed to acquire LB Finanzas, an Argentine financial app, in a deal the company says will anchor its expansion into Latin America. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions.
eToro plans to use Argentina as its regional hub for Latin American operations. LB Finanzas was founded roughly eight years ago in Rosario and offers a platform covering equities, ETFs, crypto, and money market funds, as well as payment solutions with Argentine peso and US dollar accounts. The app is regulated by Argentina’s National Securities Commission and Central Bank, giving eToro a licensed local presence in a market shaped by strict currency controls and high inflation.
eToro co-founder and CEO Yoni Assia said the deal reflects a strategy to build locally rather than simply offer a global product. “By combining LB Finanzas’ local expertise with eToro’s global scale, we can accelerate our growth across the region and provide more people with access to the tools they need to build their wealth,” he said.
Camilo Cristia, co-founder and CEO of LB Finanzas, said the deal follows from the company’s founding idea. “We started LB Finanzas in Rosario with a simple idea: that any Argentine should be able to invest with the same tools people use internationally,” he said. “Joining eToro lets us take that much further. For our clients, nothing changes today.”
The acquisition is eToro’s fourth announced deal in 2026, following purchases of crypto wallet provider Zengo, Israeli exchange Bit2C, and an agreement to acquire trading platform TradeZero. The deals broaden eToro’s platform beyond its core social trading model, adding local payments infrastructure, crypto custody, and wealth management capabilities across multiple markets.
Argentina has seen a rise in retail investor participation in recent years, driven partly by persistent peso depreciation. LB Finanzas grew its user base and trading volumes against that backdrop. eToro has not given a timeline for closing.
