Revolut seeks scent agency to give its brand an olfactory identity #
Revolut is looking for a scent agency to develop a signature fragrance, according to a public brief posted by Gareth Morgan, the company’s Head of Global Brand Design.
The brief calls for a partner able to combine “olfactive discovery, creative thinking and expert perfumery,” with the goal of translating Revolut’s identity into something “unexpected, memorable and unmistakably ours.”
Scent branding has long been used by luxury retailers and hospitality companies to reinforce brand recognition in physical spaces. Financial technology companies have rarely pursued it.
Revolut has been expanding its physical presence. The company recently ran a biometric face-pay pilot at London coffee shops, its first test of in-store checkout technology. The fragrance project fits within that expansion.
Morgan, who has 16 years of brand strategy experience including tenures at Wolff Olins and TikTok, described the project in his brief as an effort to find a sensory equivalent for Revolut’s visual identity, not a marketing stunt.
Luxury carmakers and hotel chains have long used proprietary fragrances to build emotional associations with their brands. Revolut’s brief positions any resulting scent as potentially deployable across retail touchpoints, events, or partner spaces.
No timeline or budget has been disclosed. The agency selection process is ongoing.
