Japan’s SBI Group completes dtcpay’s $25M Series A as Singapore stablecoin payments firm plans global expansion #
Singapore-based stablecoin payments company dtcpay has closed its $25 million Series A funding round after Japanese financial conglomerate SBI Group joined as a strategic investor, the company announced on 18 September 2026.
The round opened in April when Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India, part of Vertex Holdings, a wholly owned subsidiary of Temasek, led an initial $10 million tranche. SBI Group invested through two Singapore-based vehicles: subsidiary SBI Ventures Asset Pte Ltd and the SBI-NTU-Kyobo Digital Innovation Fund. Genedant Capital, a MAS-licensed Singapore fund manager with more than $2 billion in assets under management and advisory, and existing backer Kwee Liong Tek, a prominent Singaporean business leader, also contributed. The combined commitments meet dtcpay’s $25 million target, though neither SBI nor the company disclosed the size of SBI’s individual contribution or the firm’s post-money valuation.
Founded by Alice Liu and Band Zhao, dtcpay provides infrastructure that lets businesses and individuals accept, hold, and transact in stablecoins and fiat currency side by side. Its products include real-time stablecoin-to-fiat conversion, merchant payment terminals, and a Visa card that lets consumers spend supported stablecoins through the card network. The company positions its offering as an alternative to traditional cross-border payment rails, which it says carry multi-day settlement times and layered intermediary costs.
The company plans to use the capital through the remainder of 2026 to expand its merchant network and advance its product roadmap, including a revamped business portal aimed at enterprise clients and new consumer features within the dtcpay mobile app.
dtcpay holds a Major Payment Institution licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and an Electronic Money Institution licence in Luxembourg, giving it authorization to operate across Southeast Asia and within the European Economic Area. The company raised $16.5 million in pre-Series A financing in June 2023.
SBI Group spans banking, securities, insurance, asset management, and digital assets, and has invested across global fintech and digital asset infrastructure.
