ETFBook Raises $13 Million to Expand US and Asia-Pacific Presence as Global ETF Market Approaches $25 Trillion #
Zurich-based ETF data and analytics company ETFBOOK (SquaredData AG) has raised $13 million to expand from its European base into the Americas and Asia-Pacific.
The round was led by Expedition Growth Capital, with existing investor BlackFin Capital Partners also participating. Steve Twomey, a Boston-based partner at Expedition Growth Capital, is joining ETFBOOK’s board of directors as part of the deal to support the company’s US market entry.
Founded in 2020, ETFBOOK describes itself as an intelligence layer for the global ETF ecosystem that consolidates fragmented data from multiple sources into a single feed. The company delivers its data through APIs, an analytics platform called ETFBOOK Platform, and a service called Workforce that combines its data with clients’ proprietary information. The company is also developing an AI-powered conversational interface. Its clients include ETF issuers, fund administrators, market makers, authorised participants, asset managers, wealth managers, and hedge funds.
ETFBOOK plans to use the capital to establish a US legal entity and open a New York office, and to expand its Hong Kong presence for the Asia-Pacific market. Its Cracow operation, the company’s technology delivery hub, will also receive additional investment. The company covers more than 11,000 ETFs across Europe and the United States and has offices in Zurich, London, Paris, New York, and Cracow.
The company linked the timing of the raise to the pace of ETF market growth, according to its announcement. Global ETF assets under management have reached approximately $25 trillion and are projected to reach $35 trillion by 2030. ETFBOOK argues that data infrastructure has not kept pace, leaving market participants dependent on disconnected sources and manual reconciliation processes.
New product launches are adding further complexity. ETFBOOK’s own data shows more than 1,320 ETF funds have launched so far this year, roughly seven per trading day, including over 970 in the US and more than 350 in Europe.
The raise follows ETFBOOK’s earlier backing from BlackFin Capital Partners and gives the company a direct presence in the US market, where demand for machine-readable fund data has grown alongside the expansion of active and thematic ETF strategies.
