Anthropic Wires Claude Into Wealth Management With Schwab, BlackRock and Vanguard Connectors #

Anthropic entered the wealth management sector on September 14 with Claude for Financial Advisors, a plugin that bundles direct connections to major custodians, asset managers and portfolio platforms with pre-built workflow tools designed to reduce the administrative burden on financial advisory practices.

The product has two main components: Connectors, which give Claude real-time access to client data held across an advisor’s existing systems, and Skills, which use that aggregated information to execute specific tasks without requiring advisors to rebuild context each time. According to the company’s announcement, workflow skills cover meeting preparation, portfolio review, estate and tax summary briefs, compliance screening against SEC Marketing Rule requirements, post-meeting follow-up drafts and CRM entry updates.

Launch partners span custodians, asset managers and wealthtech providers: Charles Schwab, BlackRock, Vanguard, Addepar, Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, SS&C Black Diamond, Wealthbox, Wealth.com and Zocks, alongside Anthropic’s existing enterprise integrations with Microsoft 365, Salesforce, DocuSign, Box, FactSet, S&P Global and Morningstar. A data-custody architecture means client records remain on each custodian’s servers rather than being transferred to Anthropic’s systems.

Anthropic pointed to Kitces research finding that a typical advisory practice spends only one-sixth of its time in client-facing meetings, with the remainder consumed by preparation, planning and documentation spread across disconnected systems. The company also cited the 2026 Retirement Confidence Survey from the Employee Benefit Research Institute, in which more than four in ten American workers said they do not know where to turn for reliable financial or retirement planning advice, a gap the company argues freed-up advisor time could help close.

The plugin is available immediately through the Cowork plugin browser at no additional charge to firms that already hold an Anthropic Enterprise licence. For those without an existing Enterprise agreement, Anthropic is taking applications via a sign-up form; firms that request a new licence before the end of September 2026 will receive a one-time usage credit. Industry estimates put the combined cost of Claude Cowork and the advisor plugin at roughly $70 to $120 per user per month, depending on utilisation.

Anthropic is recommending Enterprise plans specifically for registered investment advisers because that tier includes the audit logs advisory firms require for regulatory recordkeeping. The company has said investment recommendations, client-facing communications and compliance determinations must still pass through human review and approval before being acted upon.
