Four TSB executive committee members to depart as Santander integrates the bank
Four TSB executive committee members to depart as Santander integrates the bank #
TSB has announced that four members of its executive committee will leave the bank over the coming months as Santander UK proceeds with integrating the lender it acquired for £2.65 billion earlier this year.
Cheryl McCuaig, Chief Information Officer; Richard Lees, Chief Risk Officer; Ariam Enraght-Moony, Chief People Officer; and George Gordon, Communications and Corporate Affairs Director, are all departing. TSB said orderly handovers are being arranged for each role to limit operational disruption.
McCuaig joined TSB in January 2023 with more than 35 years of technology leadership experience across investment, commercial and retail banking. Lees was appointed Chief Risk Officer in 2022. Enraght-Moony joined in October 2023, having previously led the HR function at infrastructure investor John Laing. Gordon has been the bank’s most senior communications official, covering media and corporate affairs.
The departures follow Santander UK’s completion of the TSB acquisition on 1 May 2026, when the board was reconstituted with Santander nominees. David Oldfield joined as chair, succeeding Nick Prettejohn, and Santander UK chief executive Mahesh Aditya joined as a board member. Several existing TSB board members stepped down at that time.
Santander UK has also been making changes to its own executive committee. In July 2026, it announced four new appointments: a Chief Financial Officer, Chief Accounting Officer, Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Cards and Payments, as it aligned its UK organisational structure more closely with the wider Banco Santander model.
Together, TSB and Santander UK form one of the larger retail and mortgage lenders in the UK. Santander agreed to buy TSB from Banco Sabadell in July 2024, and the deal completed in spring 2026 after clearing regulatory approval. The integration, which involves combining the two banks’ technology platforms, products and workforce, is expected to take several years.
