iPipeline Closes Origo Acquisition After CMA Clearance, Expanding UK Wealth and Retirement Technology Presence #

Digital financial services technology firm iPipeline has completed its acquisition of UK-based connectivity specialist Origo after receiving all required regulatory approvals, including clearance from the UK Competition and Markets Authority. The deal is intended to expand iPipeline’s presence across the UK wealth and retirement markets and, according to the company, build out a more connected digital infrastructure for financial services firms.

iPipeline, headquartered in Wayne, Pennsylvania and a subsidiary of Roper Technologies, provides software for life insurance, annuities and wealth management. Its platforms are used by carriers, distributors and financial institutions to streamline product distribution and adviser processes. Origo is an Edinburgh-based fintech founded in 1989 that has long operated within the UK financial services industry’s connectivity infrastructure through two brands, Origo and Unipass, which link advisers, providers and platforms. Both brands will be retained following the acquisition.

Pat O’Donnell, chief executive officer of iPipeline, said the deal reflects a shared belief that financial services firms need better tools to simplify operations and collaboration. He said Origo’s connectivity capabilities complement iPipeline’s existing strengths, improving the combined company’s ability to help customers reduce complexity across insurance, retirement and wealth management workflows.

Rachel Edwards, managing director for the UK and Europe at iPipeline, said the two organisations share a conviction that meaningful innovation comes from working closely with customers and tackling real industry challenges. She said combining Origo’s connectivity expertise with iPipeline’s distribution technology creates a stronger platform for addressing those challenges.

The combined business will focus on linking people, processes and data across the insurance, retirement and wealth management sectors. iPipeline said its solutions have helped protect more than 49 million people globally.

The Origo acquisition follows iPipeline’s broader strategy of building an integrated, API-enabled ecosystem for life and wealth products. In August 2026, the firm launched its Novera API Hub, aimed at creating a connected ecosystem spanning life, annuity and wealth products.
