Google Cloud Unveils Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services, With Deutsche Bank and CME Group as Early Adopters #
Google Cloud has launched Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services, a purpose-built agentic AI solution targeting capital markets and corporate banking teams. The product, announced on August 25, debuted in preview and is already in use at a handful of major institutions, including Deutsche Bank and CME Group.
The platform includes a Financial Research agent that automates analytical workflows across KYC onboarding, portfolio risk analysis, relationship manager briefings, and pitch preparation. More than 50 domain-specific skills and 13 enterprise data connectors link the system to market data feeds, regulatory filings, and internal databases, alongside a third-party agent ecosystem. All outputs carry full data provenance, a requirement regulators and compliance teams have pressed for as AI adoption in finance has grown.
Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said the product was designed to avoid trade-offs financial institutions have faced with general-purpose AI tools. According to the company’s announcement, Kurian described the platform as one that “doesn’t lock them into any one model or ecosystem, connects to the IT systems they use every day, and is highly secure and compliant.”
Deutsche Bank served as a design partner on the Financial Research agent rather than a late-stage test user, contributing banking expertise and helping shape requirements around security, auditability, and data residency. Marie-Jeanne Deverdun, Deutsche Bank’s Chief Technology, Data and Innovation Officer, said the collaboration centered on “the realities of a highly regulated industry — from data protection and governance to the workflows our teams use every day.” Deutsche Bank plans to deploy the agent first in its corporate banking division for client research, product recommendations, and market monitoring, with potential expansion into private banking, investment banking, and financial crime risk management under evaluation.
Beyond the launch partners, Google Cloud disclosed that BNY, Citi Wealth, Lloyds Banking Group, Macquarie Bank, and insurer Signal Iduna are among the institutions already using the broader Gemini Enterprise platform. The company said Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services and a companion Legal edition are the first in a planned series of packaged, industry-specific solutions built on its foundational Gemini Enterprise offering, indicating a move toward vertical segmentation rather than general-purpose tooling.
