Experian adds personal credit scores to ChatGPT for UK users #
Experian has updated its ChatGPT application to let UK consumers view their personal credit score directly inside the AI platform for the first time, the company announced on Thursday.
The new version displays a user’s individual 1,250-point Experian Credit Score in a secure widget embedded in ChatGPT. The previous version, which launched in March 2026, showed only anonymised, postcode-level credit score comparisons. The updated app also shows each user’s score band, the factors influencing the score, historical score trends, and a side-by-side comparison of current account offers.
To access the feature, UK users tag @Experian in the ChatGPT interface and sign into their Experian account. New customers can register for a free account through the App Store or Google Play. Experian says personal credit data is displayed within its own secure, logged-in environment and is not passed to the AI model or processed by ChatGPT when generating responses.
The launch follows rising consumer use of AI for personal finance. An Experian survey of active ChatGPT users conducted in May 2026 found that nearly two-thirds, 62%, already use AI tools for help with financial goals. Until now, the company said, conversational AI could only draw on publicly sourced information about credit topics, which often lacked accuracy or personal relevance.
Experian said its score informs the majority of UK lending decisions, including eight in 10 credit card applications.
The feature is part of Experian’s strategy to embed its financial data products in platforms consumers already use. Users who want more detail than the ChatGPT interface provides can access further analysis through Experian’s mobile app and website.
