S&P Global Embeds Financial Intelligence Across Microsoft 365 Copilot in Expanded AI Partnership #
S&P Global has announced an expanded partnership with Microsoft that will embed its financial data, analytics, and insights directly into Microsoft 365 Copilot and the company’s broader agentic platform, according to a press release issued August 12, 2026.
The new agreement builds on a prior relationship between the two companies. S&P Global had previously integrated its Energy AI Ready Data offering into Microsoft 365 Copilot; the expanded deal covers the full range of S&P Global’s proprietary data, including capital markets data, earnings call transcripts, private company financials, and global securities information.
At the center of the technical design is the S&P Global AI Data Portal’s Deterministic Retrieval solution, also called the Kensho LLM-ready API. The system gives Microsoft 365 Copilot and related agentic tools access to S&P Global content while producing accurate, cited, and verifiable results. Rather than transferring data into a separate AI environment, the solution connects licensed S&P Global content directly into the Microsoft tools clients already use, including a dedicated Copilot in Excel connector for analyst workflows and a plugin for agentic experiences within Copilot Cowork.
According to the announcement, clients will be able to move from research to action within familiar Microsoft workflows, with results that are transparent and traceable rather than generated by black-box reasoning.
Bill Borden, Corporate Vice President for Worldwide Financial Services at Microsoft, said the integration was aimed at bringing “the power of data and AI into the flow of work.” Sally Moore, Chief Client Officer and Co-Head of Market Intelligence at S&P Global, described the collaboration as shaping the next era of AI-ready data and intelligence-driven workflows, and said the company was meeting clients where they already work.
The deal comes as S&P Global has been restructuring its Market Intelligence unit to combine data, AI, software, and workflow capabilities under a single platform built on its Kensho Data Platform. The Microsoft partnership extends that strategy to Microsoft 365, one of the most widely used enterprise software suites in financial services.
