Quantinuum Brings Helios Quantum Computer to Oracle Cloud in Multi-Year Enterprise Deal #

Quantinuum and Oracle have announced a multi-year strategic partnership that will make Quantinuum’s Helios trapped-ion quantum computer available through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for enterprise customers.

Under the agreement, Helios will be deployed on-premises within a US-based OCI AI data centre, where OCI customers can access the system as a managed cloud service alongside Oracle’s existing high-performance computing (HPC) and GPU infrastructure. Helios will connect to OCI’s compute, networking, storage, identity, and data services, operating within the same governance and access controls enterprise customers already use, without requiring organisations to procure or manage their own quantum hardware.

Oracle said it plans to preview a new OCI quantum service in the coming months, pairing Quantinuum’s development stack with open-source hybrid-programming tools so that developers can build and test applications combining quantum and classical computation.

The two companies said they intend to jointly explore how hybrid quantum-AI systems could tackle computationally demanding problems in materials science, pharmaceuticals, logistics, energy, and financial modelling. Access for academic institutions and research communities is also part of the plan.

Dr Rajeeb Hazra, President and CEO of Quantinuum, said the partnership reflects the company’s belief that the next phase of enterprise computing will be defined by the convergence of quantum, AI, and high-performance computing. Mahesh Thiagarajan, Executive Vice President of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, said the deal gives developers a way to explore how quantum computing could complement existing AI and HPC workloads while improving compute efficiency and energy use, according to company statements.

Helios, launched commercially in November 2025, is Quantinuum’s third-generation quantum computer. The 98-physical-qubit trapped-ion system has been used in demonstrations involving 48 logical qubits and has achieved near five-nines logical fidelity in fault tolerance tests, the company has said.

The partnership announcement coincided with Quantinuum’s second-quarter earnings release. The company reported revenue of $8 million for the quarter ended 30 June, a 279% increase from $2 million in the same period a year earlier. Quantinuum also completed its initial public offering earlier this year, raising $1.7 billion in gross proceeds, which it described as the first traditional IPO in the quantum computing industry. The company set full-year 2026 revenue guidance at $28 million to $32 million.
