MoonPay Enters Stablecoin Issuance Market With Enterprise Suite, M0 Integration and Ex-Paxos Leadership #
MoonPay, the crypto payments firm known for its consumer on-ramp services, has launched a full-stack enterprise stablecoin business targeting fintechs, wallets, and payment service providers.
The initiative, announced November 13, centers on a new integration with M0, an open infrastructure platform for builders of application-specific stablecoins. The tie-up lets MoonPay issue and manage fully reserved digital dollars across multiple blockchains, giving corporate clients the ability to deploy customized and interoperable stablecoins at scale without stitching together multiple vendors.
The offering builds on MoonPay’s earlier acquisition of Iron, an API-first stablecoin infrastructure platform for embedding stablecoin functionality. Together, the company says it now covers the full lifecycle of stablecoin operations, from issuance and on- and off-ramps to swaps and payments, through a single integration. Target markets include the United States, Asia, and Latin America.
Stablecoins created through the platform will be distributed across MoonPay’s existing network of buy, sell, swap, deposit, and checkout products, giving issuers built-in distribution from the outset.
To lead the division, MoonPay has appointed Zach Kwartler as Head of Stablecoins. Kwartler joins from Paxos, where he oversaw the development of white-label stablecoin and crypto infrastructure products that power platforms including PayPal, Interactive Brokers, and Mercado Libre. MoonPay has also brought in Derek Yu, another Paxos veteran, as Treasurer to oversee cash, liquidity, and stablecoin operations.
“By combining open, verifiable technology with MoonPay’s trusted infrastructure, we’re making stablecoin issuance instant and accessible to every business on the planet,” said Ivan Soto-Wright, CEO and co-founder of MoonPay.
Luca Prosperi, CEO and co-founder of M0, said the partnership extends MoonPay’s role beyond ramps and payments into custom issuance, and accelerates M0’s ability to deliver infrastructure to crypto, fintech, and institutional builders globally.
The launch comes as competition in stablecoin issuance has intensified. Since the passage of the US GENIUS Act in July, the number of new stablecoin projects has grown sharply, increasing competition for enterprise infrastructure contracts. MoonPay aims to position itself as a picks-and-shovels provider in that market rather than simply a distribution channel.
