Decade Exits Stealth With $85M Seed Round to Build AI Wealth Advisory Platform for Brazil #
Brazilian fintech startup Decade has come out of stealth with an $85 million seed round, which the company claims is the largest ever raised by a Latin American startup. The round was backed by Greenoaks, Benchmark and Diffusion to fund an AI-native wealth advisory platform aimed at broadening access to personalized financial guidance.
The São Paulo- and San Francisco-based company was co-founded by Vitor Olivier, one of Nubank’s earliest engineers and later its chief technology officer as the digital bank grew to more than 100 million customers across Latin America, and Felipe Meneses, the first Brazilian named a Thiel Fellow and founder of Hyperplane, an AI company focused on financial institutions that Nubank subsequently acquired. The two worked together on some of Nubank’s largest AI initiatives before leaving to start Decade, the company said.
The round, equivalent to roughly R$440 million, closed in September 2025 when the company was founded but was not publicly disclosed until now. The platform is available only through a waitlist and has not yet publicly launched.
Decade pairs each client with a senior human financial adviser alongside a proprietary AI system that analyzes their full financial picture, monitors investments and delivers tailored recommendations. The company says it is not positioning itself as a bank, brokerage or investment platform but as a distinct category of service, one that has historically required a large team of advisers and was available only to the ultra-wealthy.
Neil Mehta of Greenoaks, which has also backed Stripe, Revolut and Anthropic, framed the opportunity as the next step in Brazilian financial inclusion, noting that Pix, Brazil’s instant payments network, and the country’s open finance rules have reshaped retail banking but that investing and wealth management have yet to see the same shift.
The founders plan to use the capital to expand the platform’s technology, deepen its AI capabilities and broaden access to wealth advisory services across Brazil. Decade says it aims to “create a new generation of millionaires.”
Large US venture funds have increasingly backed Brazilian AI startups with wide social ambitions. Greenoaks and Benchmark also jointly backed another record Latin American seed round earlier this year.
