NatWest Unifies Data, AI and Engineering Under New Chief Data and Analytics Officer Hired from LSEG #

NatWest Group has appointed Triona O’Keeffe as its new Chief Data and Analytics Officer (CDAO), consolidating data, artificial intelligence and engineering under a single leadership structure.

O’Keeffe will join NatWest in January 2027 and report to Group Chief Information Officer Scott Marcar. The two previously worked together at Deutsche Bank’s London office.

O’Keeffe brings more than three decades of technology leadership experience to the role. She spent the past five years at the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) as Chief Information Officer for Data and Analytics and was CIO at Direct Line Group from 2016 to 2021. She also held senior roles at Deutsche Bank and, earlier in her career, Man Investment Group.

NatWest says the CDAO position is designed to bring data, AI and engineering closer together to speed up product and feature delivery to customers. O’Keeffe will oversee an expanded function covering both data and engineering.

Group CIO Scott Marcar said the hire was intended to help NatWest accelerate its technology transformation, with data and AI central to that effort.

O’Keeffe said she saw the role as an opportunity to join the bank at a significant point in its development. She cited NatWest’s customer focus, its place in the UK economy, and the momentum behind its ongoing transformation as reasons for taking the position.

The appointment adds fintech and capital markets data experience to NatWest’s technology leadership team as UK banks increase investment in AI-driven services and operational efficiency.
