NYSE unveils tokenised securities platform with 24/7 trading plans #
The New York Stock Exchange has announced plans to launch a new platform for tokenised securities, enabling round-the-clock trading outside traditional market hours. The initiative is designed to support the issuance and trading of tokenised versions of regulated financial instruments, using blockchain-based infrastructure to extend market access and improve settlement efficiency
NYSE said the platform will initially focus on select asset classes and institutional participants, operating within existing regulatory frameworks. The move reflects growing interest among major exchanges in tokenisation as a way to modernise capital markets, respond to competition from digital asset venues, and meet demand for continuous trading and faster settlement cycles.
