Ripple secures UK EMI licence and crypto registration #

Ripple has been granted an electronic money institution (EMI) licence in the UK, alongside registration as a cryptoasset firm, strengthening its regulatory standing in one of Europe’s key financial markets. The approvals allow Ripple to issue electronic money, provide payment services, and offer regulated crypto services to UK customers under the supervision of the Financial Conduct Authority

The licences support Ripple’s expansion of its payments and digital asset infrastructure in the UK, particularly for enterprise and institutional clients using blockchain-based settlement solutions. The move comes as regulators increase scrutiny of crypto firms, with Ripple positioning itself as a compliant provider operating within established financial frameworks
