PayPal Wallet integrates with ChatGPT #
PayPal has announced a new partnership with OpenAI to integrate its digital wallet and checkout services directly into ChatGPT, enabling users to complete purchases, send money, and manage payments without leaving the chat interface. According to PayPal’s official press release, the collaboration introduces instant checkout and “agentic commerce” features, allowing ChatGPT to act as a smart shopping assistant powered by PayPal’s payment infrastructure
The integration connects ChatGPT’s conversational capabilities with PayPal’s secure APIs, letting users access account balances, approve transactions, and make payments seamlessly through PayPal and Venmo. The companies say this is a step toward embedding financial functionality into AI-driven experiences, reducing friction in online shopping and digital finance
PayPal stated that the partnership aligns with its strategy to extend payment capabilities beyond traditional apps and into emerging AI ecosystems. The feature will be rolled out gradually to ChatGPT users, starting in the U.S., with plans for broader international expansion in 2026.
