Revolut Ranked Worst UK Firm for Fraud Complaints, Says Which? #
Consumer group Which? has named Revolut the UK company with the highest level of fraud complaints, warning that customer dissatisfaction with its handling of scams far outpaces that of traditional banks. According to Which?, Revolut has topped the list for three years running, with thousands of cases escalated to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS)
The watchdog says customers have raised concerns about slow response times, poor fraud detection, and inconsistent reimbursements when money was stolen. In contrast, high street banks such as Barclays and Lloyds received comparatively fewer upheld complaints per customer. Revolut responded by highlighting its investments in fraud prevention technology and new customer support teams, but campaigners argue the firm must do more to protect its rapidly growing user base
The findings arrive as regulators intensify scrutiny of fintechs over consumer protection and fraud liability, with calls for stronger rules to hold digital banks accountable. For Revolut, the report underscores the reputational challenges it faces while seeking a full UK banking licence.
