Klarna Launches Debit Card Across Ten European Markets #
Swedish fintech Klarna is rolling out its debit card—offering both upfront and installment payment options—to customers in Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden, with plans to expand soon to Denmark, Germany, Norway, and Poland. The card follows the U.S. launch, which attracted 685,000 users since July and already accounts for 10% of Klarna’s global payment volume.
Klarna co-founder and CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski said the new card restores choice—“When I was a teenager…checkout terminals gave consumers a simple choice: debit or credit… Our new Klarna Card brings that choice back.”
