Revolut Taps Former Fintech CEO Francesca Carlesi for UK Banking License Venture #

Revolut, the UK’s prominent neobank, has appointed Francesca Carlesi, a seasoned entrepreneur, as the CEO of Revolut NewCo, the division pursuing the firm’s UK banking license. Carlesi, co-founder and former CEO of the mortgage lending fintech Molo, brings extensive experience from nearly seven years of leading her fintech venture in London. She is set to take the helm in December, with a vision to position Revolut as a leader in digital banking innovation for its nearly eight million UK customers. This strategic move follows the departure of James Radford, the previous UK banking chief. With a robust background that includes senior roles at Deutsche Bank, Barclays, McKinsey, and Bridgepoint Capital, Carlesi’s leadership is a significant step in diversifying Revolut’s top echelon, joining the ranks of the only other two female senior leaders at the neobank. This announcement aligns with the recent exit of Kitty Ussher from the board, signaling a reshuffling within Revolut’s UK banking ambitions.
