While the pandemic has accelerated the digital transformation of financial services, fintech as a concept has been evolving over the past few years, encompassing payments, banking, credit, and crypto. The fintech industry continues to draw significant investment, with companies in this space receiving the most venture funding worldwide. Although venture funding slowed down in 2022, fintech was still the top recipient of venture dollars globally. The opportunity for investment in fintech continues to attract investors, with Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz investing more in fintech than any other category in 2022.
