Cheadle-based fintech Conferma Pay announce new CEO #

Sabre Corporation and Conferma Pay have announced that Jason Lalor will take over as CEO. Sabre bought Conferma Pay in August 2022, and in November 2022, it announced a new partnership with Mastercard and a minority investment from the company. The partnership and investment were finalised on January 31, 2023, which led to the appointment.

Lalor has more than 20 years of experience leading commercial operations, developing strategies, and engaging partners at some of the world’s most successful and cutting-edge fintech companies. He has served on many of Square’s international boards of directors, most recently as CEO of Square’s European business based in Dublin. Prior to joining Square, he spent nearly six years at Mastercard, first as General Manager for Ireland and then as Vice President of European Digital and Fintech Partnerships. He has a lot of experience working in top positions for companies like Barclaycard, American Express, and Dell.

With the hiring of Lalor, both Conferma Pay and Sabre have taken the next step in their payment processes. Conferma Pay will be managed by Lalor. He will use new deals with Sabre and Mastercard to create advanced digital virtual card features that will change the way payments are made in the travel industry.

Conferma Pay connects issuers with more than 700 TMCs, 100+ online booking tools, and all major global depository systems. Conferma Pay generates virtual cards that can be used in approximately one hundred different currencies and is fully interfaced with all major card systems. It supports more than fifty financial partners.
