Data.ai reveals a new leader among the most downloaded financial apps in the United Kingdom #
Data.ai found that, in 2022, Chase UK showed the largest growth in downloads among financial apps in the United Kingdom. Neobank, which was released by JP Morgan in September 2021, came in first in its State of Mobile 2023 study, beating out competitors Revolut (which came in second) and Monzo (which came in third).
The score is determined by comparing the current year’s performance with the previous year’s performance. Given that Chase only launched in the UK in September 2021, the gap in performance is not that small. It also shows that competition among non-banks is growing rapidly.
Chase also dominated in terms of monthly active users, with Starling Bank in second place. NS&I Bonds, a savings account for government-insured premium bonds, was third, Revolut was fourth, and Monzo was fifth.
Revolut, on the other hand, has shown that it can grow internationally by becoming the third most downloaded financial app in France, the sixth most downloaded in Italy, the second most downloaded in Spain, and the second most downloaded in the UK.
As of 2022, PayPal has the most downloads overall, followed by Revolut and Monzo. Barclays was ranked fourth, making it the highest-ranked operating bank on Wall Street. When it comes to the total number of downloads, Chase is only sixth.
